Aurora Shredder

Great shredder but after I bought it I saw a different brand for the same price WITH a basket. It's fine - but I had to buy a plastic bin for the shreds.
Construction vs price

I did not select this shredder because of the price. I was searching for a waste basket unit that would last a fews years like my previous model. The Aurora AS680S is not constructed well, the slot is only wide enough to accept an average page, several pages must first be stacked to fit the slot. The extender to bridge wider baskets is very weak, causing the unit to dip into the basket. It could easily snap off at full extension rendering the unit useless. My previous unit had a manual fwd switch which is necessary to clear the slot. You pay for what you get and there is no telling what the item is like until you get it in your hands. This is item is for my personal use.

I had more expensive shredder before which broke very quickly. This one doesn’t even compare to the other one. I’m very happy with my purchase and I will definitely recommend to others.

Fits across almost any wastebasket and allows access for non-shredded trash. Reasonably quiet. Good value for the money.
